Our Journey...
The Ship Simulator Experience was created by former Royal Navy officers with a lifelong passion for the sea and everything that happens on the bridge.
Our 360° Simulator is a professional maritime training system, actively used by mariners from around the world and by industry professionals to test and develop navigation software. But over the years, we received countless requests from people asking if they could step onto the bridge and experience what it is really like to command a ship.
And so, the Ship Simulator Experience was born.
We wanted to give everyone the opportunity to take the controls and experience the excitement, challenge and responsibility of being on a real ship’s bridge – without ever leaving dry land.

What is a ship simulator experience?
A ship simulator experience gives you the chance to step onto the bridge and take control of a ship in a highly realistic professional simulator.
How long does it last?
It lasts between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the level you choose.
Do I need previous experience?
No, no marine experience is necessary.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
How realistic is the simulator?
Very realistic! Our simulator is a professional maritime training system, used by mariners around the world for training and navigation software testing. It recreates sights, controls and challenges of being on a real ship’s bridge, giving you an authentic experience of handling and navigating a vessel.
Can I take photos or videos?
Yes, absolutely! And please tag us if you post them on social media.
Can I buy a gift voucher?
Yes. Gift vouchers are available. They are valid for 1 year and transferable, so you can use them yourself or gift them to friends and family. Gift vouchers are digital but if you wanted a printed one, tick the gift box option and we can send you a printed copy via Royal Mail.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes, bookings can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 48 hrs before. Please email bookings@ecdis.org
Where are you located?
Steel House, Biz Space, Solent Business Park, Parkway, Whiteley, Fareham PO15 7FP.
Is there parking?
Yes, there is plenty of free parking available, but you will need to enter your car registration in reception to register you and avoid any fines.
Do you provide refreshments?
No food or drink is allowed in the Simulator, however Whiteley Village is situated a 5 minute walk away and offers a wide array of popular food outlets.
